The Port Of Rotterdam is the largest port in Europe and deals with thousands of containers a day, requiring a delicate ballet between cranes and trucks to complex for human operators. So how do they get these vehicles to drive themselves around the port?

This is a mistake economically because it reduces the economic structures and it has a effect of resesion on the economy workers add value to the economic structures a billion less taxes on 4 levels of economy equals 20 billion dollars less Productivity in the social economy and that will erode the structures of social Economic support They should build a computer model with 30 thousand employees with current cost factoring From start to finish Based on current order levels and look at how the economy Would benefit the computer could even calculate the consumer economics Borrowing and economic expansion But you currently miss the Train of economic development 👹👹👹👹👹👹

It's not just possible with automation, infact humans can still operate cranes and drive machines much quicker and safer then computers. The technology is dangerous and still far away don't be fooled by this garbage.

2:05 one of the worst things to happen to ports is automation. ILWU BC CANADA delta company tried it early 2019 and wanted jobs with shifts of 1800+ guys new guys on site every 4 hours for days of almost 12k people employed for 1 of hundreds of jobs on the site, they wanted that turned into 6 guys the entire day with automation. the strike lasted a literal 6 hours and delta folded because it directly hit the economy for i think i remember the number being 8billion lost directly from the only 6 hour strike. what im getting at is fuck automation.

He says big enough to carry 23000 containers each, is that a typo cause I counted and it can’t be that
Sherbertlemons 2 maanden geleden
Isc aria I know I remember seeing it that one too and it was somet like 21 width 43 length and like 20 deep which equates about 13000 but then it’d make sense from the other guys comment that he was saying 23000 20ft containers and not 40ft ones in the picture cause 13000x2 is roughly 23000

@ben jacob Yes, as technology progresses some jobs become obsolete and people move on to different jobs instead, almost universally we move on to better jobs. And no, the competition for good jobs will be the same it has always been, it doesn't depend on how many people there are or how many robots there are. Jobs are driven by people's wishes for more goods and services which are infinite, people will always consume whatever they can afford and often they try to consume more. And human working time and effort is the only thing that ultimately costs anything, so that will be consumed to the limits of economy. Robots don't get paychecks, their work doesn't cost anything, so the work robots do, it doesn't change the dynamics of that system, at all. Lots of people will get to change careers from making goods, to making robots that make the goods, a step up the value chain, nothing else.

@aleksander suur Each time an advance in technology is happening some ones job is getting cut..the place where im in banks employees job has been cut by 25%. Even the banks call centre has been believe that I have to speak to a computer freaking 10mins to make it understand my problem... Driverless cars cuts drivers job Automated softwares reducing desk jobs Cnc machines reducing factory workers. the list just keeps going..there are now even restaurants that have robot waitress..the list just keeps going might be true in saying that there is always some kind of job...but with the rising population the competition is going to be so high
aleksander suur
aleksander suur 24 dagen geleden
@ben jacob Oh I know, but that was already the case long before you were born, before your parents and even grandparents were born. Used to be over 95% of workforce was occupied with farming, now it's few farmers producing enough for everyone. That's automation and optimization for you. It's a good thing, leaves the rest of us to do something else. There is an infinite pool of more work that needs to be done, no matter how much you automate, there will always be more. Automation doesn't really replace humans, that's simplistic and wrong way to look at it. Automation is productivity multiplier, a tool that gets more done with same amount of effort, though often with someone else's effort. If say a factory worker gets replaced with automation, what he really gets replaced with is all the work of engineers and technicians and everyone else in it's supply chain that contributed to creating the automation solution. And it's not a small amount of work that goes into making automation work, it's expensive for a reason. If say a production line costs 10mil, pretty much all of it ends up as someone's wages. That's really the only thing that costs something, human time and effort, if you can get something without spending any, it'll be as good as free. Incidentally a ton of grain cost two hundred bucks, used to take entire family working hard for a year to earn that much. That's the result of automation for you.
